Uplift Corner

“…So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 (MSG)

This page is a dedicated space for sharing anything encouraging, uplifting, and inspiring. The Bible talks about tasting and seeing that the Lord is good (Psalms 34:8 NKJV). Testifying of His goodness is another way to encourage someone who may be going through what you have already overcome. We all have something good to testify about. I encourage you to be aware of the things, small or big and anything in between, that God is doing in your life and in your sphere of influence. I’m reminded of what I heard my husband say, let’s look for God in everything we do. In Him we live, move, and have our being! (Acts 17:28 NKJV).

  1. One evening while causally scrolling through social media, I came across a question from a concerned parent about how to comfort their child. The question was “How do you comfort a child who is constantly being let down?” Below is my response of encouragement to the parent, and I hope it will provide encouragement to you as well.

You must remind your child of his worth. He needs to be reminded that his worth is not based on how someone else views him, what someone else thinks about him, or the things someone may say to him or about him. He needs to be reminded that his worth is not based on the unfulfilled promises of others. He needs to be reminded his worth is not based on the opportunities he wants but does not get. His worth is also not based on all the accolades he will receive during his lifetime. His worth is not defined by his successes or failures. His worth is not defined by his material possessions or his outward appearance. He needs to be reminded his worth is only defined by God and God alone. He needs to be reminded of how much God loves him (Psalms 139:1-18). God took special care in creating him, and God sees him as a masterpiece which can never be duplicated or replaced (Jeremiah 1:5; Jeremiah 29:11; Ephesians 2:10).
