Something to Give
Do you ever sit back and admire the talents of others and think I wish I had that talent or gift? Well, it’s nice to admire other people’s talents but not at the expense of never realizing and using the talents and gifts God has placed on the inside of you. Most of us have heard of the saying, “What’s in your hands?”. We all have something to give. Notice I said to give. God has placed inside of us hidden treasures and talents that He wants to unveil that will not only bless us but will bless others. Each and every one of us is unique and is loaded with unique talents and abilities that only we can manifest. Think about that for a moment. No one else here on earth can do what God has called you to do. If that doesn’t make you feel special, then you need to WAKE UP and realize who you really are.
Too many times we allow what the world’s definition of success define us and dictate what path we should take in life as if the world created us. The Bible says, “Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight.” (1 Corinthians 3:18 NIV). So, we see here that God’s wisdom is not the same as the world’s definition of wisdom. The Bible also tells us not to conform to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:2 NIV). Although we live in this world, it is important, as a believer, to be reminded that we are God’s ambassador. We are representatives of our maker. We need to be at a place in our walk with Christ, that our first thoughts about anything is in line with God’s Word. The Word of God is our mirror. When we allow the things of the world to be our mirror instead of God, then things such as our thoughts, feelings, attitudes, and beliefs get out of alignment. But thank God that He is still faithful and always ready to help us get back on track. He always makes a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV). All we need to do is look to Him. Looking to Him is how you keep your mind transformed and renewed.
I want to encourage you to never give up on your dreams. If you haven’t discovered your God-given purpose, then NOW is the time. Seek God, and He will show you things that you never knew you had in you. Spending time with Him is the number one way to not only get to know Him better, but also discover more about who He created you to be and do (aka your purpose). God will place His desires in your heart that becomes your desires when you have a heart for Him. He will start showing you things and when He does, write them down. He tells us to write the vision and make it plain so that you can run with it (Habakkuk 2:2 NKJV). I’ve learned that sometimes God will show bits and pieces of things, but you have to do something with what He’s shown you and not wait until you see how everything will line up from A-Z. It takes faith to walk out what God has placed inside of you. You got to trust Him and start walking out what he Has revealed; and then He will continue to direct your paths, reveal more, and even place the right people in your paths to give legs to your vision. Then, before you know it, you will be writing more and more things down and placing a checkmark on things that have manifested, which is the exciting part! It’s a faith booster because you know: that if He did it before then He will do it again!; that He is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2 NKJV); and that He who started a good work in you, will complete it (Philippians 1:6 NKJV). You’ll then experience Habakkuk 2:3 (NKJV), which says “For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry”.
